General Enrollment Information
Our program serves children ages 3 through 5. Children who will turn 3 years old by August 31st are eligible to start in September of that year. We also accept 4 year olds. Because we are a year-round program, we accept enrollment throughout the year if there are spaces available. Children eligible for kindergarten are considered for enrollment on a case by case basis.
Typically we have between 40 and 45 spaces available each year in our four multi-age classrooms. Our goal is to have a good balance of 3 and 4 years olds as well as boys and girls in each room.
We offer a variety of enrollment options to best suit each family's individual needs ranging from 2 days a week part time to 5 days a week full time. Please note that Fridays are always a half day. To see our classroom schedules go here.
Our annual enrollment period is held from mid-January through the end of February. All applications received during this time frame are reviewed the first week of March and receive priority placing. Additional applications are processed on a first-come-first-serve basis depending on availability, room balance, and family schedule needs.
We provide scholarships on a sliding fee and we accept DSHS, City of Seattle Childcare, Assistance Vouchers, and GSA payments.
CSWS is a unique and special place. Being here is really the best way to get a true sense of who we are as a school. Please schedule an observation today.
Come to an Open House
Open Houses are typically held in January and February. These are times for the adults to visit and chat. There will be an opportunity for you to bring your child for a visit before you apply. Babies in arms are always welcome.
Open Houses are Saturday, January 12, 2019 and Saturday February 9, 2019. Drop in any time betwen 10 A.M. and 2 P.M.
Schedule an Observation.
This is the time for you and your child to get a feel for the school. We schedule observations on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings from 10:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. Observations take place in our Studio space, not in the classrooms. This gives you the opportunity to see how all of our teachers interact with our students, your child the time to fully settle in and be themselves without having to transition from space to space, and our teachers ability to observe how your child interacts with the space and their peers.
Submit an Application.
There is no application fee. You MUST do an observation before receiving an application.
1st round applications are due in the office by Friday, March 8, 2019.
Applications will continue to be accepted if there are spaces, first round applicants have priority.
The first round applicants can expect to hear from us the week of April 1, 2019. Off-cycle applications will be processed as they are completed and we aim to send notification within 2 weeks of submitting your application and after April 8, 2019.
